**सूर्यः (Surya - The Sun)**
1. **पूर्वापराद्रि सञ्चार चराचरविकासक ।**
**उत्तिष्ठ लोककल्याण सूर्यनारायण प्रभो ॥ १॥**

- सूर्य-नारायण (Sūrya-Nārāyaṇa): O Sun as Lord Narayana
- प्रभो (Prabho): O Lord
"O Sun, traverser from east to west, nurturer of all living beings, rise for the welfare of the world. O Lord Suryanarayana, please grant us auspiciousness."
2. **सप्ताश्वरश्मिरथ सन्ततलोकचार**
**श्री द्वादशात्मकमनीयत्रिमूर्तिरूप ।**
**सन्ध्यात्रयार्चित वरेण्य दिवाकरेशा**
**श्री सूर्यदेव भगवन् कुरु सुप्रभातम् ॥ २॥**
- सप्त-अश्व-रश्मि-रथ (Sapta-aśva-raśmi-ratha): chariot drawn by seven horses
- सन्तत-लोक-चार (Santata-loka-cāra): always moving across the world
- श्री द्वादश-आत्मक-मनीय-त्रि-मूर्ति-रूप (Śrī dvādaśa-ātmaka-manīya-tri-mūrti-rūpa): the twelve-formed, the embodiment of the Trimurti (three forms)
- सन्ध्या-त्रय-आर्चित (Sandhyā-traya-ārcita): worshipped at the three junctures of the day

- दश-अश्व-रथ-प्रयाण (Daśa-aśva-ratha-prayāṇa): traveling in a chariot drawn by ten horses

10. आरोग्यभाग्यममितं वितरन् महात्मन्रोगाद्विमोचयसि सन्ततमात्मभक्तान् ।आनन्दमाकलय मङ्गलकारक त्वम्मेषेन्द्रवाहन कुजग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ १०॥
• आरोग्य-भाग्य-अमितं (Ārogya-bhāgya-amitaṁ): limitless health and fortune
• वितरन् (Vitaran): dispensing
• महात्मन् (Mahātman): O noble
• रोगात्-विमोचयसि (Rogāt-vimocayasi): freeing from illness

11. सूर्यस्य दक्षिणदिशामधिसंवदानःकारुण्यलोचन विशालदृशानुगृह्य ।त्वद्ध्यानतत्परजनाननृणान् करोषिमेषेन्द्रवाहन कुजग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ ११॥

12. **बुध प्राज्ञ बुधाराध्य सिंहवाहन सोमज ।**
**उत्तिष्ठ जगतां मित्र बुद्धिपीडोपशान्तये ॥ १२॥**

13. हे पीतवर्ण सुमनोहरकान्तिकायपीताम्बर प्रमुदिताखिललोकसेव्य ।श्रीचन्द्रशेखरसमाश्रितरक्षकस्त्वम् ।ताराशशाङ्कज बुधग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ १३॥
• हे पीत-वर्ण (He pīta-varṇa): O with a yellow hue
• सु-मनोहर-कान्ति-काय (Su-manohara-kānti-kāya): with delightful radiance
• पीत-अम्बर (Pīta-ambara): clad in yellow
• प्रमुदित-अखिल-लोक-सेव्य (Pramudita-akhila-loka-sevya): joyously served by all worlds
• श्रीचन्द्रशेखर-समाश्रित-रक्षकस्त्वम् (Śrīcandraśekhara-samāśrita-rakṣakastvam): protector of those who seek refuge in Lord Chandrashekhara

14. द्राक्षागुलुच्छपदबन्धकवित्वदातःआनन्दसंहितविधूतसमस्तपाप ।कन्यापते मिथुनराशिपते नमस्तेताराशशाङ्कज बुधग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ १४॥
• द्राक्षा-गुलुच्छ-पद-बन्ध-कवित्व-दातः (Drākṣā-guluccha-pada-bandha-kavitva-dātaḥ): bestower of eloquence

23. संसारसक्तजनदुष्परिस्वप्रदातःभक्तिप्रपन्नजनमङ्गलसन्निधातः ।श्रीपार्वतीपतिदयामयदृष्टिप्रवाचश्री भास्करात्मज शनैश्चर सुप्रभातम् ॥ २३॥
• संसार-सक्त-जन-दुष्परि-स्व-प्रदातः (Saṁsāra-sakta-jana-duṣpari-sva-pradātaḥ): giver of tough experiences to those attached to worldly life
• भक्ति-प्रपन्न-जन-मङ्गल-सन्निधातः (Bhakti-prapanna-jana-maṅgala-sannidhātaḥ): auspicious presence for the devoted
• श्री-पार्वती-पति-दया-मय-दृष्टि-प्रवाच (Śrī-Pārvatī-pati-dayā-maya-dṛṣṭi-pravāc): blessed with the compassionate gaze of Lord Parvati’s consort

24. तैलान्नदीपतिलनीलसुपुष्पसक्तःकुम्भादिपत्यमकराधिपये वहित्वम् ।निर्भीक कामित फलप्रद नीलवासःश्री भास्करात्मज शनैश्चर सुप्रभातम् ॥ २४॥
• तैल-अन्न-दीपति-ल-नील-सुपुष्प-सक्तः (Taila-anna-dīpati-la-nīla-supuṣpa-saktaḥ): fond of oil, sesame seeds, and blue flowers

25. गौहुते अधिदेवता राहो सर्पाः प्रत्यधिदेवताः ।राहुग्रह समुत्तिष्ठा नेत्रपीडोपशान्तये ॥ २५॥

26. नीलाम्बरादि समलङ्कृत सैंहिकेयज्ञानप्रसन्न वरदानसुखावहस्त्वम् ।शूर्पासनस्थ सुजनावह सौम्यरूपराहुग्रहप्रवर नेत्रद सुप्रभातम् ॥ २६॥
• सैंहिकेय-ज्ञान-प्रसन्न (Saiṁhike-ya-jñāna-prasanna): bringer of joy through your blessings
• वरदान-सुख-आवहस्त्वम् (Varadāna-sukha-āvahastvam): bestower of happiness through blessings
• शूर्पा-असन-स्थ (Śūrpā-asana-stha): seated in a winnowing basket
• सुजन-आवह (Sujana-āvaha): bringing joy to the righteous
• सौम्य-रूप (Saumya-rūpa): with a pleasant form
• राहु-ग्रह-प्रवर (Rāhu-graha-pravara): foremost among the planets
• नेत्रद (Netrad): O Rahu

“Adorned in blue, O Rahu, bringer of joy through your blessings, seated in a winnowing basket, you have a pleasant form. O foremost among the planets, good morning to you.”
27. सिंहाधिपश्च तनु सिंहगतासनस्त्वम्मेर्वप्रदक्षिण चरदुत्तरकायशोभिम् ।आदित्यचन्द्रग्रसनाग्रहलग्नचित्तराहुग्रहप्रवर नेत्रद सुप्रभातम् ॥ २७॥
• सिंह-अधिपश्च तनु (Siṁha-adhipaśca tanu): ruler of Leo, with a splendid form
• सिंह-गत-आसनस्त्वम् (Siṁha-gata-āsanastvam): moving like a lion
• मेरु-प्रदक्षिण चर (Meru-pradakṣiṇa cara): moving in a clockwise direction around Mount Meru
• दुत्तर-काय-शोभिम् (Duttara-kāya-śobhim): with a northernly radiant body
• आदित्य-चन्द्र-ग्रसन-आग्रह-लग्न-चित्त (Āditya-candra-grasana-āgraha-lagna-citta): engrosser of the Sun and Moon, captivator of minds
• राहु-ग्रह-प्रवर नेत्रद (Rāhu-graha-pravara netrad): O greatest of planets, Rahu

28. चित्रगुप्तब्रह्मदेवौ अधिप्रत्यधिदेवते ।केतुग्रह समुत्तिष्ठ ज्ञानपीडोपशान्तये ॥ २८॥
• चित्रगुप्त-ब्रह्म-देवौ (Citra-gupta-brahma-devau): under the supervision of Chitragupta and Lord Brahma
• अधि-प्रत्यधि-देवते (Adhi-pratyadhi-devate): supreme and subordinate deities

29. चित्रं च ते ध्वजरथादि समस्तमेवसयेतरं च गमनं परितस्तु मेरुम् ।सूर्यस्य वायुदितिसञ्चरतीह नित्यम्केतुग्रहप्रवर मोक्षद सुप्रभातम् ॥ २९॥
• चित्रं (Citraṁ): distinctive
• ते ध्वज-रथ-आदि (Te dhvaja-ratha-ādi): with a flag and chariot
• समस्तम्-एव (Samastam-eva): encompassing everything
• सयेतरं च गमनं (Sayetaraṁ ca gamanaṁ): movement

• सूर्यस्य वायु-दिति-सञ्चरतीह नित्यम् (Sūryasya vāyu-diti-sañcaratīha nityam): constantly traversing the path of the Sun and other deities
• केतु-ग्रह-प्रवर मोक्षद (Ketu-graha-pravara mokṣada): bestower of liberation, foremost among planets
• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning
“O Ketu, with a distinctive flag and chariot, your movement encompasses Mount Meru. Constantly traversing the path of the Sun and other deities, O bestower of liberation, good morning to you.”
30. त्वन्मन्त्रजापपरसज्जन संस्तुतस्सन्ज्ञानं तनोशि विमलं परिहार्य पीडाम् ।एवम् हि सन्ततमनन्तदयां कुरु त्वम्केतुग्रहप्रवर मोक्षद सुप्रभातम् ॥ ३०॥
• त्वन्-मन्त्र-जाप-पर-सज्जन संस्तुतस्सन् (Tvan-mantra-jāpa-para-sajjana saṁstutassan): praised by the righteous who chant your mantras
• ज्ञानं तनोशि विमलं (Jñānaṁ tanoṣi vimalaṁ): you bestow pure knowledge
• परिहार्य पीडाम् (Parihārya pīḍām): relieving afflictions
• एवम् हि सन्ततम्-अनन्त-दयां कुरु त्वम् (Evam hi santatam-ananta-dayāṁ kuru tvam): always bestow your infinite mercy
• केतु-ग्रह-प्रवर मोक्षद (Ketu-graha-pravara mokṣada): bestower of liberation, foremost among planets
• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning
