**सूर्यः (Surya - The Sun)**

1. **पूर्वापराद्रि सञ्चार चराचरविकासक ।**  

   **उत्तिष्ठ लोककल्याण सूर्यनारायण प्रभो ॥ १॥**  

   - पूर्व-अपर-अद्रि (Pūrva-apara-adri): east to west  

   - सञ्चार (Saṅcāra): traverser  

   - चर-अचर-विकासक (Cara-acara-vikāsaka): nurturer of all living beings  

   - उत्तिष्ठ (Uttiṣṭha): arise  

   - लोक-कल्याण (Loka-kalyāṇa): welfare of the world  

   - सूर्य-नारायण (Sūrya-Nārāyaṇa): O Sun as Lord Narayana  

   - प्रभो (Prabho): O Lord  

   

 "O Sun, traverser from east to west, nurturer of all living beings, rise for the welfare of the world. O Lord Suryanarayana, please grant us auspiciousness."

2. **सप्ताश्वरश्मिरथ सन्ततलोकचार**  

   **श्री द्वादशात्मकमनीयत्रिमूर्तिरूप ।**  

   **सन्ध्यात्रयार्चित वरेण्य दिवाकरेशा**  

   **श्री सूर्यदेव भगवन् कुरु सुप्रभातम् ॥ २॥**  

   - सप्त-अश्व-रश्मि-रथ (Sapta-aśva-raśmi-ratha): chariot drawn by seven horses  

   - सन्तत-लोक-चार (Santata-loka-cāra): always moving across the world  

   - श्री द्वादश-आत्मक-मनीय-त्रि-मूर्ति-रूप (Śrī dvādaśa-ātmaka-manīya-tri-mūrti-rūpa): the twelve-formed, the embodiment of the Trimurti (three forms)  

   - सन्ध्या-त्रय-आर्चित (Sandhyā-traya-ārcita): worshipped at the three junctures of the day  

   - वरेण्य (Vareṇya): O resplendent one  

   - दिवाकर-ईशा (Divākara-īśā): O Divakara (Sun)  

   - श्री सूर्यदेव (Śrī Sūryadeva): O Lord Surya  

   - भगवन् (Bhagavan): O God  

   - कुरु सुप्रभातम् (Kuru suprabhātam): bestow upon us a good morning  

    

"With a chariot drawn by seven horses, O resplendent one, the twelve-formed, the embodiment of the Trimurti, worshipped at the three junctures of the day, O Divakara, bestow upon us a good morning."

Continuing with the next verse:

3. **अज्ञानगाहतमसःपटलं विदार्य**  

   **ज्ञानातपेन परिपोषयसीह लोकम् ।**  

   **आरोग्यभाग्यमति सम्प्रददासि भानो**  

   **श्री सूर्यदेव भगवन् कुरु सुप्रभातम् ॥ ३॥**  

   - अज्ञान-गाह-तमसः-पटलं (Agyāna-gāha-tamasaḥ-paṭalaṁ): darkness of ignorance  

   - विदार्य (Vidārya): dispelling  

   - ज्ञान-आतपेन (Jñāna-ātapena): with the light of knowledge  

   - परिपोषयसीह (Paripoṣayasīha): nurturing  

   - लोकम् (Lokam): the world  

   - आरोग्य-भाग्यमति (Ārogya-bhāgyamati): health and fortune  

   - सम्प्रददासि (Sampradadāsi): you grant  

   - भानो (Bhāno): O Sun  

   - श्री सूर्यदेव (Śrī Sūryadeva): O Lord Surya  

   - भगवन् (Bhagavan): O God  

   - कुरु सुप्रभातम् (Kuru suprabhātam): bestow upon us a good morning  

   

"Dispelling the darkness of ignorance, nurturing the world with the light of knowledge, O Sun, you grant health and fortune. O Lord Surya, bestow upon us a good morning."

Continuing with the fourth verse:

4. **छायापते सकलमानवकर्मसाक्षिन्**  

   **सिंहाख्यराश्यधिप पापविनाशकारिन् ।**  

   **पीडोपशान्तिकर पावन काञ्चनाभ**  

   **श्री सूर्यदेव भगवन् कुरु सुप्रभातम् ॥ ४॥**  

   - छाया-पते (Chāyā-pate): O Lord of Shadows  

   - सकल-मानव-कर्म-साक्षिन् (Sakala-mānava-karma-sākṣin): witness of all human deeds  

   - सिंह-आख्य-राशि-अधिप (Siṁha-ākhya-rāśi-adhipa): ruler of the zodiac sign Leo  

   - पाप-विनाश-कारिन् (Pāpa-vināśa-kārin): destroyer of sins  

   - पीडा-उपशान्ति-कर (Pīḍā-upaśānti-kara): pacifier of afflictions  

   - पावन काञ्चन-आभ (Pāvana kāñcana-ābha): the one with a golden hue  

   - श्री सूर्यदेव (Śrī Sūryadeva): O Lord Surya  

   - भगवन् (Bhagavan): O God  

   - कुरु सुप्रभातम् (Kuru suprabhātam): bestow upon us a good morning  

   

"O Lord of Shadows, witness of all human deeds, destroyer of sins, pacifier of afflictions, the one with a golden hue, O Lord Surya, bestow upon us a good morning."

           **चन्द्र (Chandra - The Moon)**

5. **सर्वलोकसमुल्हास शङ्करप्रियभूषणा ।**  

   **उत्तिष्ठ रोहिणीकान्त चन्द्रदेव नमोऽस्तुते ॥ ५॥**  

   - सर्व-लोक-समुल्हास (Sarva-loka-samulhāsa): bringing joy to all worlds  

   - शङ्कर-प्रिय-भूषणा (Śaṅkara-priya-bhūṣaṇā): ornament of Lord Shiva  

   - उत्तिष्ठ (Uttiṣṭha): rise  

   - रोहिणी-कान्त (Rohiṇī-kānta): beloved of Rohini  

   - चन्द्रदेव (Candradeva): O Moon God  

   - नमोऽस्तुते (Namo'stute): salutations to you  

   

 "O Moon, ornament of Lord Shiva, bringing joy to all worlds, rise, O beloved of Rohini, salutations to you."

6. **इन्द्रादि लोकपरिपालक कीर्तिपात्र**  

   **केयूरहारमकुटादि मनोज्ञगात्र ।**  

   **लक्ष्मीसहोदर दशाश्वरथप्रयाण**  

   **श्री चन्द्रदेव कुमुदप्रिय सुप्रभातम् ॥ ६॥**  

   - इन्द्र-आदि लोक-परिपालक कीर्ति-पात्र (Indra-ādi loka-paripālaka kīrti-pātra): praised by Indra and other protectors of the worlds  

   - केयूर-हार-मकुट-आदि मनोज्ञ-गात्र (Keyūra-hāra-makuṭa-ādi manojña-gātra): adorned with armlets, crowns, and having a beautiful body  

   - लक्ष्मी-सहोदर (Lakṣmī-sahodara): brother of Lakshmi  

   - दश-अश्व-रथ-प्रयाण (Daśa-aśva-ratha-prayāṇa): traveling in a chariot drawn by ten horses  

   - श्री चन्द्रदेव (Śrī Candradeva): O Lord Moon  

   - कुमुद-प्रिय (Kumuda-priya): beloved of the lotus  

   - सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning  

   

"Adorned with armlets and crowns, you are the subject of praise by Indra and other protectors of the worlds. O Moon, brother of Lakshmi, traveling in a chariot drawn by ten horses, good morning to you, beloved of the lotus."

Continuing with the verses dedicated to **चन्द्र (Chandra - The Moon)**:

7. **श्री वेङ्कटेशनयन स्मरमुख्यशिष्य**  

   **वन्दारुभक्तमनसामुपशाम्य पीदाम् ।**  

   **लोकान् निशाचर सदा परिपालय त्वम्**  

   **श्री चन्द्रदेव कुमुदप्रिय सुप्रभातम् ॥ ७॥**  

   - श्री वेङ्कटेश-नयन स्मर-मुख्य-शिष्य (Śrī Veṅkaṭeśa-nayana smara-mukhya-śiṣya): primary disciple of Venkatesha  

   - वन्दारु-भक्त-मनसाम् उपशाम्य पीदाम् (Vandāru-bhakta-manasām upaśāmy pīdām): alleviate the pain of your devotees  

   - लोकान् निशा-चर सदा परिपालय त्वम् (Lokān niśā-cara sadā paripālaya tvam): protect the world always, O night wanderer  

   - श्री चन्द्रदेव (Śrī Candradeva): O Lord Moon  

   - कुमुद-प्रिय (Kumuda-priya): beloved of the lotus  

   - सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning  

   - Translation: "O Moon, the primary disciple of Venkatesha, you alleviate the pain of your devotees. Protect the world always, O night wanderer. Good morning to you, beloved of the lotus."

8. **नीहारकान्तिकमनीयकलाप्रपूर्ण**  

   **पीयूषवृष्टिपरिपोषितजीवलोक ।**  

   **सस्यादिवर्धक शशाङ्क विराण्मनोज**  

   **श्री चन्द्रदेव कुमुदप्रिय सुप्रभातम् ॥ ८॥**  

   - नीहार-कान्ति-कमनीय-कला-प्रपूर्ण (Nīhāra-kānti-kamanīya-kalā-prapūrṇa): with the beauty of dew drops, full of artistic grace  

   - पीयूष-वृष्टि-परिपोषित-जीव-लोक (Pīyūṣa-vṛṣṭi-paripoṣita-jīva-loka): nourishing the living world like nectar  

   - सस्य-आदि-वर्धक शशाङ्क (Sasya-ādi-vardhaka śaśāṅka): enhancer of crops  

   - विराण-मनोज (Virāṇa-manoja): O Moon  

   - श्री चन्द्रदेव (Śrī Candradeva): O Lord Moon  

   - कुमुद-प्रिय (Kumuda-priya): beloved of the lotus  

   - सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning  

   

 "With the beauty of dew drops, full of artistic grace, nourishing the living world like nectar, O Moon, enhancer of crops, good morning to you, beloved of the lotus."

9. मेरोः प्रदक्षिणं कुर्वन् जीवलोकं च रक्षसि ।अङ्गारक ग्रहोत्तिष्ठ रोगपीडोपशान्तये ॥ ९॥

• मेरोः (Meroḥ): Mount Meru

• प्रदक्षिणं (Pradakṣiṇaṁ): circling

• कुर्वन् (Kurvan): doing

• जीवलोकं (Jīvalokaṁ): the living world

• च (Ca): and

• रक्षसि (Rakṣasi): protecting

• अङ्गारक (Aṅgāraka): Mars

• ग्रह-उत्तिष्ठ (Graha-uttiṣṭha): rise, O planet

• रोग-पीडा-उपशान्तये (Roga-pīḍā-upaśāntaye): to alleviate diseases and afflictions

 “Circling Mount Meru, protecting the living world, O Mars, rise to alleviate diseases and afflictions.”

10. आरोग्यभाग्यममितं वितरन् महात्मन्रोगाद्विमोचयसि सन्ततमात्मभक्तान् ।आनन्दमाकलय मङ्गलकारक त्वम्मेषेन्द्रवाहन कुजग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ १०॥

• आरोग्य-भाग्य-अमितं (Ārogya-bhāgya-amitaṁ): limitless health and fortune

• वितरन् (Vitaran): dispensing

• महात्मन् (Mahātman): O noble

• रोगात्-विमोचयसि (Rogāt-vimocayasi): freeing from illness

• सन्ततम्-आत्म-भक्तान् (Santatam-ātma-bhaktān): constantly to your devotees

• आनन्दम्-आकलय (Ānandam-ākalaya): bringer of joy

• मङ्गल-कारक (Maṅgala-kāraka): harbinger of auspiciousness

• त्वम् (Tvam): you

• मेष-इन्द्र-वाहन (Meṣa-indra-vāhana): ruler of Aries

• कुज-ग्रह (Kuja-graha): O Mars

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

• Translation: “O noble Mars, dispenser of limitless health and fortune, constantly freeing your devotees from illness. O harbinger of joy and auspiciousness, good morning to you, the ruler of Aries.”

11. सूर्यस्य दक्षिणदिशामधिसंवदानःकारुण्यलोचन विशालदृशानुगृह्य ।त्वद्ध्यानतत्परजनाननृणान् करोषिमेषेन्द्रवाहन कुजग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ ११॥

• सूर्यस्य (Sūryasya): of the Sun

• दक्षिण-दिशाम्-अधि-संवदानः (Dakṣiṇa-diśām-adhi-saṁvadānaḥ): companion to the southern path

• कारुण्य-लोचन (Kāruṇya-locana): compassionate eyes

• विशाल-दृशा-अनुगृह्य (Viśāla-dṛśā-anugṛhya): with a grand vision

• त्वत्-ध्यान-तत्पर-जनान् (Tvat-dhyāna-tatpara-janān): those devoted to your meditation

• अनृणान् (Anṛṇān): you bless

• मेष-इन्द्र-वाहन (Meṣa-indra-vāhana): ruler of Aries

• कुज-ग्रह (Kuja-graha): O Mars

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

 “Companion to the Sun’s southern path, with compassionate eyes and a grand vision, you bless those devoted to your meditation. O ruler of Aries, good morning to you, Mars.”

12. **बुध प्राज्ञ बुधाराध्य सिंहवाहन सोमज ।**  

**उत्तिष्ठ जगतां मित्र बुद्धिपीडोपशान्तये ॥ १२॥**

- बुध (Budha): Mercury

- प्राज्ञ (Prājña): wise

- बुध-आराध्य (Budhārādhya): worshipped by the learned

- सिंह-वाहन (Siṁha-vāhana): riding a lion

- सोमज (Somaja): born of the Moon

- उत्तिष्ठ (Uttiṣṭha): rise

- जगतां मित्र (Jagatāṁ mitra): friend of the world

- बुद्धि-पीडा (Buddhi-pīḍā): mental afflictions

- उपशान्तये (Upaśāntaye): to relieve or pacify

Translation: "O wise Mercury, worshipped by the learned, born of the Moon, riding a lion, rise as a friend of the world to relieve mental afflictions."

13. हे पीतवर्ण सुमनोहरकान्तिकायपीताम्बर प्रमुदिताखिललोकसेव्य ।श्रीचन्द्रशेखरसमाश्रितरक्षकस्त्वम् ।ताराशशाङ्कज बुधग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ १३॥

• हे पीत-वर्ण (He pīta-varṇa): O with a yellow hue

• सु-मनोहर-कान्ति-काय (Su-manohara-kānti-kāya): with delightful radiance

• पीत-अम्बर (Pīta-ambara): clad in yellow

• प्रमुदित-अखिल-लोक-सेव्य (Pramudita-akhila-loka-sevya): joyously served by all worlds

• श्रीचन्द्रशेखर-समाश्रित-रक्षकस्त्वम् (Śrīcandraśekhara-samāśrita-rakṣakastvam): protector of those who seek refuge in Lord Chandrashekhara

• तारा-शशाङ्क-ज (Tārā-śaśāṅka-ja): son of the Moon and Tara

• बुध-ग्रह (Budha-graha): O Mercury

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

“O Mercury, with a delightful yellow hue and radiance, clad in yellow, served joyously by all worlds, protector of those who seek refuge in Lord Chandrashekhara, good morning to you, son of the Moon and Tara.”

14. द्राक्षागुलुच्छपदबन्धकवित्वदातःआनन्दसंहितविधूतसमस्तपाप ।कन्यापते मिथुनराशिपते नमस्तेताराशशाङ्कज बुधग्रह सुप्रभातम् ॥ १४॥

• द्राक्षा-गुलुच्छ-पद-बन्ध-कवित्व-दातः (Drākṣā-guluccha-pada-bandha-kavitva-dātaḥ): bestower of eloquence

• आनन्द-संहित-विधूत-समस्त-पाप (Ānanda-saṁhita-vidhūta-samasta-pāpa): remover of all sins through blissful association

• कन्या-पते (Kanyā-pate): ruler of Virgo

• मिथुन-राशि-पते (Mithuna-rāśi-pate): ruler of Gemini

• नमस्ते (Namaste): salutations to you

• तारा-शशाङ्क-ज (Tārā-śaśāṅka-ja): son of the Moon and Tara

• बुध-ग्रह (Budha-graha): O Mercury

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

• Translation: “Bestower of eloquence, remover of all sins through blissful association, ruler of Virgo and Gemini, salutations to you. O Mercury, son of the Moon and Tara, good morning.”

15. धनुर्मीनादि देवेश देवतानां महागुरो ।ब्रह्मजात समुत्तिष्ठ पुत्रपीडोपशान्तये ॥ १५॥

• धनुर्-मीन-आदि देवेश (Dhanur-mīna-ādi deveśa): lord of Sagittarius and Pisces

• देवतानां महागुरो (Devatānāṁ mahāguro): great teacher of the gods

• ब्रह्मजात (Brahmajāt): born from Brahma

• समुत्तिष्ठ (Samuttiṣṭha): rise

• पुत्र-पीडा-उपशान्तये (Putra-pīḍā-upaśāntaye): to relieve the afflictions of progeny

 “O Jupiter, lord of Sagittarius and Pisces, great teacher of the gods, born from Brahma, rise to relieve the afflictions of progeny.”

Continuing with the verses dedicated to **गुरु (Jupiter)**:

16. **इन्द्रादि देवबहुमानितपुत्रकार**  

    **आचार्यवर्य जगतां श्रितकल्पपूज ।**  

    **तारापते सकलसन्नुतधीप्रभाव**  

    **श्रीधीष्पतिग्रह जनावन सुप्रभातम् ॥ १६॥**  

    - इन्द्र-आदि देव-बहुमानित-पुत्रकार (Indra-ādi deva-bahumānita-putrakāra): respected by Indra and other gods  

    - आचार्यवर्य जगतां श्रितकल्पपूज (Ācāryavarya jagatāṁ śritakalpapūja): most venerable teacher, worshipped like the wish-fulfilling Kalpavriksha by the world  

    - तारापते सकल-सन्नुत-धी-प्रभाव (Tārāpate sakala-sannuta-dhī-prabhāva): lord of Tara, with radiant intellect  

    - श्रीधीष्पति-ग्रह जन-आवन सुप्रभातम् (Śrīdhīṣpati-graha jana-āvana suprabhātam): O Jupiter, enlightener of people, good morning  

    - Translation: "Respected by Indra and other gods, most venerable teacher, worshipped like the wish-fulfilling Kalpavriksha by the world, lord of Tara, with radiant intellect. O Jupiter, good morning to you, the enlightener of people."

17. **पद्मासनस्थ कनकाम्बर दीनबन्धो**  

    **भक्तार्तिहार सुखकारक नीतिकर्तः ।**  

    **वाग्रूपभेदसुविकासक पण्डितेज्य**  

    **श्रीधीष्पतिग्रह जनावन सुप्रभातम् ॥ १७॥**  

    - पद्मासनस्थ (Padmāsanastha): seated on a lotus  

    - कनकाम्बर (Kanakāmbara): clad in golden garments  

    - दीनबन्धो (Dīnabandho): friend to the distressed  

    - भक्त-आर्तिहार (Bhakta-ārtihāra): remover of devotees' sorrows  

    - सुखकारक नीतिकर्तः (Sukhakāraka nītikartaḥ): creator of happiness and righteousness  

    - वाग्रूप-भेद-सुविकासक (Vāgrūpa-bheda-su-vikāsaka): celebrated by scholars  

    - पण्डितेज्य (Paṇḍitejya): O Jupiter  

    - श्रीधीष्पति-ग्रह जन-आवन सुप्रभातम् (Śrīdhīṣpati-graha jana-āvana suprabhātam): enlightener of people, good morning  

  "Seated on a lotus, clad in golden garments, friend to the distressed, remover of devotees' sorrows, creator of happiness and righteousness, O Jupiter, celebrated by scholars, good morning to you, the enlightener of people."

Continuing with the verses dedicated to **शुक्र (Venus)**:

18. **तुलावृषभराशीश पञ्चकोनस्थितग्रह ।**  

    **शुक्रग्रह समुत्तिष्ठा पत्नीपीडोपशान्तये ॥ १८॥**  

    - तुला-वृषभ-राशीश (Tulā-vṛṣabha-rāśīśa): lord of Libra and Taurus  

    - पञ्चकोन-स्थित-ग्रह (Pañcakona-sthita-graha): planet situated in a pentagon  

    - शुक्र-ग्रह समुत्तिष्ठा (Śukra-graha samuttiṣṭhā): O Venus, rise  

    - पत्नी-पीडा-उपशान्तये (Patnī-pīḍā-upaśāntaye): to relieve the afflictions of spouses  

    - Translation: "O Venus, lord of Libra and Taurus, planet situated in a pentagon, rise to relieve the afflictions of spouses."

19. **श्वेताम्बरादि बहुशोभितगौरगात्र**  

    **ज्ञानैकनेत्र कविसन्नुतिपात्र मित्र ।**  

    **प्रज्ञाविशेषपरिपालितदैत्यलोक**  

    **हे शुक्रदेव भगवन् कुरु सुप्रभातम् ॥ १९॥**  

    - श्वेत-अम्बर-आदि बहु-शोभित-गौर-गात्र (Śveta-ambara-ādi bahu-śobhita-gaura-gātra): clad in white, with a bright, fair body  

    - ज्ञान-एक-नेत्र (Jñāna-eka-netra): the one-eyed sage  

    - कवि-सन्नुति-पात्र (Kavi-sannuti-pātra): praised by poets  

    - मित्र (Mitra): friend to all  

    - प्रज्ञा-विशेष-परिपालित-दैत्य-लोक (Prajñā-viśeṣa-paripālita-daitya-loka): protector of wisdom and the demon race  

    - हे शुक्रदेव (He śukradeva): O Venus  

    - भगवन् (Bhagavan): O God  

    - कुरु सुप्रभातम् (Kuru suprabhātam): good morning  

    - Translation: "Clad in white, with a bright, fair body, the one-eyed sage, praised by poets, friend to all, protector of wisdom and the demon race, O Venus, good morning to you."

20. **सञ्जीविनीप्रमुखमन्त्ररहस्यवेदिन्**  

    **तत्त्वाखिलज्ञ रमणीयरथाधिरूढ**  

    **राज्यारियोगकर दैत्यहितोपदेशिन्**  

    **हे शुक्रदेव भगवन् कुरु सुप्रभातम् ॥ २०॥**  

    - सञ्जीविनी-प्रमुख-मन्त्र-रहस्य-वेदिन् (Saṅjīvinī-pramukha-mantra-rahasya-vedin): knower of the Sanjeevini mantra and other secret mantras  

    - तत्त्व-अखिल-ज्ञ (Tattva-akhila-jña): all-knowing  

    - रमणीय-रथ-आधिरूढ (Ramaṇīya-ratha-ādhirūḍha): riding a beautiful chariot  

    - राज्य-अरि-योगकर (Rājya-ari-yogakara): bringer of prosperity  

    - दैत्य-हितोपदेशिन् (Daitya-hitopadeśin): adviser to demons  

    - हे शुक्रदेव (He śukradeva): O Venus  

    - भगवन् (Bhagavan): O God  

    - कुरु सुप्रभातम् (Kuru suprabhātam): good morning  

 

"Knower of the Sanjeevini mantra and other secret mantras, all-knowing, riding a beautiful chariot, bringer of prosperity and adviser to demons, O Venus, good morning to you."

21. मण्डले धनुराकारे संस्थितः सूर्यनन्दन ।नीलदेह समुत्तिष्ठ प्राणपीडोपशान्तये ॥ २१॥

• मण्डले (Maṇḍale): in the zodiac

• धनुराकारे (Dhanur-ākāre): form of Sagittarius

• संस्थितः (Saṁ-sthitaḥ): established, situated

• सूर्य-नन्दन (Sūrya-nandana): son of the Sun

• नील-देह (Nīla-deha): blue body

• समुत्तिष्ठ (Sam-uttiṣṭha): arise

• प्राण-पीडा-उपशान्तये (Prāṇa-pīḍā-upa-śāntaye): for the alleviation of life’s afflictions

“O Saturn, son of the Sun, situated in the zodiac of Sagittarius, with a blue body, rise to alleviate the afflictions of life.”

22. चापासनस्थ वरगृध्ररथप्रयाणकालाञ्जनाभ यमसोदर काकवाह ।भक्तप्रजावनसुदीक्षित शम्भुसेविन्श्री भास्करात्मज शनैश्चर सुप्रभातम् ॥ २२॥

• चाप-आसनस्थ (Cāpa-āsana-stha): in a bow-shaped seat

• वर-गृध्र-रथ-प्रयाण (Vara-gṛdhra-ratha-prayāṇa): in a chariot drawn by vultures

• काल-अञ्जन-आभ (Kāla-añjana-ābha): dark as collyrium

• यम-सोदर (Yama-sodara): sibling of Yama

• काक-वाह (Kāka-vāha): carried by crows

• भक्त-प्रजा-अवन-सुदीक्षित (Bhakta-prajā-avana-sudīkṣita): closely observing the devotees

• शम्भु-सेविन् (Śambhu-sevin): worshipper of Shambhu

• श्री भास्कर-आत्मज (Śrī Bhāskara-ātmaja): O illustrious son of the Sun

• शनैश्चर (Śanaiścara): Saturn

• सुप्रभातम् (Su-prabhātam): good morning

 “Seated in a bow-shaped seat, traveling in a chariot drawn by vultures, dark as collyrium, sibling of Yama, carried by crows, closely observing your devotees, worshipper of Shambhu, O Saturn, son of the Sun, good morning to you.”

23. संसारसक्तजनदुष्परिस्वप्रदातःभक्तिप्रपन्नजनमङ्गलसन्निधातः ।श्रीपार्वतीपतिदयामयदृष्टिप्रवाचश्री भास्करात्मज शनैश्चर सुप्रभातम् ॥ २३॥

• संसार-सक्त-जन-दुष्परि-स्व-प्रदातः (Saṁsāra-sakta-jana-duṣpari-sva-pradātaḥ): giver of tough experiences to those attached to worldly life

• भक्ति-प्रपन्न-जन-मङ्गल-सन्निधातः (Bhakti-prapanna-jana-maṅgala-sannidhātaḥ): auspicious presence for the devoted

• श्री-पार्वती-पति-दया-मय-दृष्टि-प्रवाच (Śrī-Pārvatī-pati-dayā-maya-dṛṣṭi-pravāc): blessed with the compassionate gaze of Lord Parvati’s consort

• श्री भास्कर-आत्मज (Śrī Bhāskara-ātmaja): O illustrious son of the Sun

• शनैश्चर (Śanaiścara): Saturn

• सुप्रभातम् (Su-prabhātam): good morning

• Translation: “Giver of tough experiences to those attached to worldly life, auspicious presence for the devoted, blessed with the compassionate gaze of Lord Parvati’s consort, O Saturn, son of the Sun, good morning to you.”

24. तैलान्नदीपतिलनीलसुपुष्पसक्तःकुम्भादिपत्यमकराधिपये वहित्वम् ।निर्भीक कामित फलप्रद नीलवासःश्री भास्करात्मज शनैश्चर सुप्रभातम् ॥ २४॥

• तैल-अन्न-दीपति-ल-नील-सुपुष्प-सक्तः (Taila-anna-dīpati-la-nīla-supuṣpa-saktaḥ): fond of oil, sesame seeds, and blue flowers

• कुम्भ-आदि-पत्यम्-अकर-आधिप-ये वहित्वम् (Kumbha-ādi-patyam-akara-ādhipa-ye vahitvam): lord of Aquarius

• निर्भीक (Nirbhīk): fearless

• कामित-फल-प्रद (Kāmita-phala-prada): granter of desired fruits

• नील-वासः (Nīla-vāsaḥ): clad in blue

• श्री भास्कर-आत्मज (Śrī Bhāskara-ātmaja): O illustrious son of the Sun

• शनैश्चर (Śanaiścara): Saturn

• सुप्रभातम् (Su-prabhātam): good morning

“Fond of oil, sesame seeds, and blue flowers, lord of Aquarius, fearless, granter of desired fruits, clad in blue, O Saturn, son of the Sun, good morning to you.”

25. गौहुते अधिदेवता राहो सर्पाः प्रत्यधिदेवताः ।राहुग्रह समुत्तिष्ठा नेत्रपीडोपशान्तये ॥ २५॥

• गौहुते (Gauhute): in the libation (offering) of a cow

• अधि-देवता (Adhi-devatā): supreme deity

• राहो (Rāho): Rahu

• सर्पाः (Sarpāḥ): serpents

• प्रत्यधि-देवताः (Pratyadhi-devatāḥ): attendant deities

• राहु-ग्रह समुत्तिष्ठा (Rāhu-graha samuttiṣṭhā): O Rahu, rise

• नेत्र-पीडा-उपशान्तये (Netra-pīḍā-upaśāntaye): to relieve the afflictions of the eyes

“O Rahu, with serpents as your attendant deities, rise to relieve the afflictions of the eyes.”

26. नीलाम्बरादि समलङ्कृत सैंहिकेयज्ञानप्रसन्न वरदानसुखावहस्त्वम् ।शूर्पासनस्थ सुजनावह सौम्यरूपराहुग्रहप्रवर नेत्रद सुप्रभातम् ॥ २६॥ 

• सैंहिकेय-ज्ञान-प्रसन्न (Saiṁhike-ya-jñāna-prasanna): bringer of joy through your blessings

• वरदान-सुख-आवहस्त्वम् (Varadāna-sukha-āvahastvam): bestower of happiness through blessings

• शूर्पा-असन-स्थ (Śūrpā-asana-stha): seated in a winnowing basket

• सुजन-आवह (Sujana-āvaha): bringing joy to the righteous

• सौम्य-रूप (Saumya-rūpa): with a pleasant form

• राहु-ग्रह-प्रवर (Rāhu-graha-pravara): foremost among the planets

• नेत्रद (Netrad): O Rahu

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

 “Adorned in blue, O Rahu, bringer of joy through your blessings, seated in a winnowing basket, you have a pleasant form. O foremost among the planets, good morning to you.”

27. सिंहाधिपश्च तनु सिंहगतासनस्त्वम्मेर्वप्रदक्षिण चरदुत्तरकायशोभिम् ।आदित्यचन्द्रग्रसनाग्रहलग्नचित्तराहुग्रहप्रवर नेत्रद सुप्रभातम् ॥ २७॥

• सिंह-अधिपश्च तनु (Siṁha-adhipaśca tanu): ruler of Leo, with a splendid form

• सिंह-गत-आसनस्त्वम् (Siṁha-gata-āsanastvam): moving like a lion

• मेरु-प्रदक्षिण चर (Meru-pradakṣiṇa cara): moving in a clockwise direction around Mount Meru

• दुत्तर-काय-शोभिम् (Duttara-kāya-śobhim): with a northernly radiant body

• आदित्य-चन्द्र-ग्रसन-आग्रह-लग्न-चित्त (Āditya-candra-grasana-āgraha-lagna-citta): engrosser of the Sun and Moon, captivator of minds

• राहु-ग्रह-प्रवर नेत्रद (Rāhu-graha-pravara netrad): O greatest of planets, Rahu

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

 “O Rahu, ruler of Leo, with a splendid form, moving in a clockwise direction around Mount Meru, engrosser of the Sun and Moon, captivator of minds, good morning to you, the greatest of planets.”

28. चित्रगुप्तब्रह्मदेवौ अधिप्रत्यधिदेवते ।केतुग्रह समुत्तिष्ठ ज्ञानपीडोपशान्तये ॥ २८॥

• चित्रगुप्त-ब्रह्म-देवौ (Citra-gupta-brahma-devau): under the supervision of Chitragupta and Lord Brahma

• अधि-प्रत्यधि-देवते (Adhi-pratyadhi-devate): supreme and subordinate deities

• केतु-ग्रह समुत्तिष्ठ (Ketu-graha samuttiṣṭha): O Ketu, rise

• ज्ञान-पीडा-उपशान्तये (Jñāna-pīḍā-upaśāntaye): to relieve the afflictions of knowledge

“O Ketu, under the supervision of Chitragupta and Lord Brahma, rise to relieve the afflictions of knowledge.”

29. चित्रं च ते ध्वजरथादि समस्तमेवसयेतरं च गमनं परितस्तु मेरुम् ।सूर्यस्य वायुदितिसञ्चरतीह नित्यम्केतुग्रहप्रवर मोक्षद सुप्रभातम् ॥ २९॥

• चित्रं (Citraṁ): distinctive

• ते ध्वज-रथ-आदि (Te dhvaja-ratha-ādi): with a flag and chariot

• समस्तम्-एव (Samastam-eva): encompassing everything

• सयेतरं च गमनं (Sayetaraṁ ca gamanaṁ): movement

• परितस्तु मेरुम् (Paritastu merum): around Mount Meru

• सूर्यस्य वायु-दिति-सञ्चरतीह नित्यम् (Sūryasya vāyu-diti-sañcaratīha nityam): constantly traversing the path of the Sun and other deities

• केतु-ग्रह-प्रवर मोक्षद (Ketu-graha-pravara mokṣada): bestower of liberation, foremost among planets

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning

“O Ketu, with a distinctive flag and chariot, your movement encompasses Mount Meru. Constantly traversing the path of the Sun and other deities, O bestower of liberation, good morning to you.”

30. त्वन्मन्त्रजापपरसज्जन संस्तुतस्सन्ज्ञानं तनोशि विमलं परिहार्य पीडाम् ।एवम् हि सन्ततमनन्तदयां कुरु त्वम्केतुग्रहप्रवर मोक्षद सुप्रभातम् ॥ ३०॥

• त्वन्-मन्त्र-जाप-पर-सज्जन संस्तुतस्सन् (Tvan-mantra-jāpa-para-sajjana saṁstutassan): praised by the righteous who chant your mantras

• ज्ञानं तनोशि विमलं (Jñānaṁ tanoṣi vimalaṁ): you bestow pure knowledge

• परिहार्य पीडाम् (Parihārya pīḍām): relieving afflictions

• एवम् हि सन्ततम्-अनन्त-दयां कुरु त्वम् (Evam hi santatam-ananta-dayāṁ kuru tvam): always bestow your infinite mercy

• केतु-ग्रह-प्रवर मोक्षद (Ketu-graha-pravara mokṣada): bestower of liberation, foremost among planets

• सुप्रभातम् (Suprabhātam): good morning
